New Creation
We started this series by learning about creation. We learned that God is the good creator of everything and that everything God created is good. This claim immediately faces pushback - if God is the good creator of everything and everything is good... why isn't everything, well, good?
The answer to that is of course explained in the next movement in the Christian story called "The Fall." God's good creation has been distorted by this thing called "sin." Similarly, last week's focus on "Redemption" - on the third movement in the Christian story raises a question much like the one raised by creation. "If the death and resurrection of Jesus has purchased forgiveness for all of humanity, why is the world, well, still the world?" In other words, why are things still the way they are? If Jesus' death and resurrection conquered sin and defeated death, why are death and sin still here?
