Of First Importance: The Resurrection - 10:45am Contemporary Service
In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul, the author, makes a startling claim to emphasize the importance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Paul says, "If Christ is not raised, our preaching is useless, your faith is in vain, you're still dead in your sins, and of all people - we are to be most pitied." (1 Cor. 15:14,17,19)
These words are written by a man who will eventually be killed for proclaiming the resurrection of Jesus Christ. For Paul, everything pertaining to the Christian faith hinges on the resurrection. If there is no resurrection, we're all just wasting our time, but if Jesus is risen, well, that changes everything. Either Christ is risen - and we live in response to His resurrection - or Christ is dead and not risen - and we live our lives accordingly. There is no middle ground. Join us this Sunday as we consider not only the claims surrounding the resurrection of Jesus Christ, but the claims, the promises, and the hope His resurrection makes upon us.
