John 11 takes us straight into humanity’s deepest pain: death. Lazarus, a dear friend of Jesus, has died. His sisters are overwhelmed with grief, and their community is filled with questions: Where was Jesus? Didn’t he love him? Couldn’t he have prevented this? Their questions are our questions. For some, Jesus seems loving but powerless. For others, His power is unquestioned—but if He is truly good and truly cares, why didn’t He stop this tragedy? This week we will wrestle with one of the heaviest questions humans face, searching not only for answers, but for God Himself.
