The Truth About Treasure

A man runs up to Jesus, throws himself at His feet, and pleads with Jesus to answer this question: What must I do to inherit eternal life? It's only after their conversation, a conversation that ultimately leads to the great disappointment of the man, that we discover he is incredibly wealthy. He's got it all and yet, for all his wealth and worldly security, there's a nagging sense that something is missing. The interaction between this man and Jesus provides a stark challenge to all of us - what is the truth about treasure? Is it possible that we're saving up what cannot save? This week we'll talk about how Jesus intends His followers to relate to their 'stuff' (money, possessions, things etc.) and why heavenly treasure is so much better than we realize.
