Sow What Costs You
King David is in a tough place. He's sinned against God and the ripple effects of his sin have caused great suffering among his people. Something must be done - but what? God offers a way forward, instructing David to build an altar on another man's land. To do this, David offers to buy the land from the man, but the man refuses. How could he take money from the king who seeks to worship God? You can have it for free, the man offers! But David refuses, saying, "No, I insist on paying you for it. I will not sacrifice to the Lord my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing.” What might this mean for us today? Are there areas of our lives where we're giving to God, but what we're giving 'costs us nothing'?
Join us this Sunday as we explore what it means to sow seeds of time, treasure, and talents that cost us according to just how good we believe God to be.
