Acts of Service

Today's Love Language is Acts of Service - serving others in love. Jesus says in a number of different ways and shows through countless demonstrations that He did not come to be served but to serve and to give His life away on behalf of others. The 'withness' of Jesus is not one in which He demands our attention as servants and butlers, though He certainly deserves all of this and more, but instead, the King of Glory lovingly serves us - crazy! This inversion of relationship, where God stoops low and serves His people in love, challenges every notion of greatness and power we think we understand. To explore this beautiful gift of love we'll explore John 13 in which Jesus, on the night of his betrayal and arrest, continues to love His disciples to the end by washing their feet - a radical demonstration of servant leadership.
