The Problem with Evil and the Goodness of God

For many people, the existence of evil is a great challenge to the existence of God. The objection goes like this: If God is all-good and all-powerful, then God would have both the motivation (goodness) and means (power) to eradicate evil or prevent it altogether. And yet, evil exists.

So, what’s the deal?

Is God not all-good?

Is God not all-powerful?

If evil exists, does that mean there is no God?

While this is indeed a challenging question, the Bible offers us ways of living in the tension of our unanswered questions with faith, hope, joy, and love.
