Good Bones: Creation From Nothing

Apr 14, 2024    Pastor Bobby Brooks

The goal of Genesis 1 is not intended to emphasize how creation came to be, but who and why they came to be. Genesis 1 is not designed to converse with our modern scientific debates, but to set itself apart from any other ancient way of understanding the cosmos. When seen in this way, the beauty and vision of Genesis 1 invites us to see God as He truly is, as the good creator of everything, and to begin to see everything as God intended it: as good and full of purpose, order, and design.

This week, we'll look at the first "good bone" of the Gospel story - the creation account - in order to see that far from being an outdated, antiquated way of seeing the world, Genesis 1 offers us the most compelling, comprehensive way of seeing God, creation, and humanity's role within it. Join us as we explore the Bible's creation account and see why it is so important we start here to keep the whole Gospel (the good news) before us!
