Get Your Hopes Up
In Luke 24, we come across two of Jesus' disciples walking away from Jerusalem. Even though reports are coming in that Jesus is alive, these two disciples just can't process that kind of information. As much as they may wish it were true, they've already had their hope crushed once this week when Jesus was crucified. After everything that just happened, it's just too dangerous to get their hopes up again. So they leave town.
But on their way they come across an unexpected travel companion - Jesus himself. They don't recognize him at first, but by the time their seven mile journey is over, their hearts are burning with a hope they've never known before.
This Easter, we're invited to get our hopes up; to experience a hope that does not disappoint and cannot die because Jesus is alive.
