A shepherd has 100 sheep and one of them wanders off. Upon realizing his loss, the shepherd makes sure the 99 remaining sheep are safe and goes in search of the missing one. When he finds it, he's overjoyed, carries it home, and invites his friends and neighbors to celebrate with him.
God's the good shepherd, we're the lost sheep - God rescues us, restores us, and rejoices over us. End of story... or is it?
