Beautifully Backwards

Happy Easter everyone! He is risen, He is risen indeed! We’re going to continue in this theme of resurrection life by exploring Jesus’ teachings known as the Beatitudes (a word meaning ‘happy’ or ‘blessed’). Essentially, Jesus kicks off his public teaching by casting vision for what true blessing looks like. Jesus’ day and age was not very different from our own. There were many competing visions of what would best lead to human flourishing alongside much violence, corruption, and injustice. Into that world then, and this world now, Jesus reveals God’s heart for life in His kingdom.
