The Poor in Spirit

Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of God. Something you'll realize as you read the beatitudes is they raise a ton of questions long before their meaning comes into focus. What does it mean to be poor in spirit? How in the world is that good news? What is it about being poor in spirit that opens us to receive the kingdom of God? This week we'll explore the first of Jesus' blessings - the gift of being poor in spirit.
