Sacrificial Giving - 10:30am Traditional Service

In Mark 12, a poor widow sparks the praise of Jesus. As the rich give to the temple treasury from their abundance, she gives two small coins - the last of what she had. As Jesus says, it was "all she had to live on." While the quantity of the wealthy far exceeded that of her gift, it is her small, nominal, seemingly insignificant gift that causes Jesus to celebrate. Why? What was it about her gift, small as it may be, that stirred so much joy and celebration in Jesus? This week we'll talk about what it means to work towards living and giving sacrificially - to not only give joyfully and generously, but to progress towards an attitude of sacrificial love.
